It was built with great optimism in 1000 days between 1957 and 1960, shortly after Brazil became a democracy. The first elected president promised to rise a brand new capital in the geographic middle of the country and bring the nation together. An ultra modern city was created by a team of architects led by Oscar Niemeyer and the urbanist Lucio Costa. It`s a strange and beautiful place. I was interested in the architects dream - seeing Brasilia without people... The photographs were exposed with very long shutterspeeds to erase people and traffic. Vegar Moen 2002
